GRADE 11 AND 12, COOPERATIVE EDUCATION
Two Credits CWE 2A9 - Four Credits CWE 4A9

Cooperative Education is an active learning process which integrates theory from classroom subjects with practical experience. There is a classroom component and a placement component. Pre-placement sessions include health and safety training, interviewing skills, confidentiality, human rights, workplace ethics, employment standards, the role of unions and orientation preparation. Monthly in-school sessions are mandatory to reflect on placement learning and complete co-operative education course assignments. A portfolio and ISU are due by the end of the semester. A personalized placement learning plan is developed for each student. Together the classroom and the placement provide students with:

 - Credit(s) for the OSSD

-Increased employability skills
- Valuable experience for their future career destination
- Exploration of a career to assist in vocation selection
- Hands on training for employment opportunities
